Our Mission

To provide the means for members of the Hindu faith to fulfill the holy tenet, achieving Moksha, requiring one’s ashes to be committed to the sacred Ganges, in the holy city of Varanasi.  SRG is equipped to help families celebrate the life of a loved one by making it possible to complete this traditional religious ceremony (Asthi Visarjan), in the holy waters of the Ganges River, in Varanasi, India.

About Sacred Rites of The Ganges

SRG is a company dedicated to providing the worldwide Hindu population with a simple solution for returning the cremated remains (cremains) of a loved one to the Holy Ganges.  The Company’s services provide an efficient, reliable and secure means for the transportation of cremains to India, from all corners of the globe.  Founded in 2006, in response to the needs of the rapidly expanding American Hindu community, SRG has created a system to provide a guaranteed, trouble-free method of complying with the sacred religious tenet of returning the cremated remains of the deceased to Mother Ganges.

Comprised of a team of educated, dedicated and specially trained individuals who have devoted themselves to providing this important service, SRG is able to fill an  important need for the Hindu community in the United States and worldwide.

The Company has corporate offices in Sarasota, Florida and Varanasi, India. SRG was founded by Kameshwar Singh, Dr. Steven Denstman and Allan Pirie.

SRG Charitable Program

The Company has developed charitable programs to provide aid in the form of food and clothing to the needy population in Varanasi, India.  A percentage of SRG’s revenues is also being directed to reputable charitable organizations in Varanasi, India.

SRG's United States Based Staff

Pandit Sharma comes from a  deeply religious family. He was inspired at an early age to spread the teachings of Hinduism by his grandfather Pandit Bhadrinauth, the Dharma Charya (Bishop) of Guyana. Pandit Sharma also received inspiration from his father and uncles who are also Brahman Priests. Pandit Sharma has been providing religious support and spiritual guidance to the Hindu community in Tampa, Florida for over a decade. He founded the Shri Saraswati Devi Mandir Temple in Tampa where he currently serves as Priest and spiritual leader. SRG’s Founders

Kameshwar Singh, M.A.

Mr. Singh is the Director of Operations for SRG’s activities in India.  He holds a Masters degree in Economics from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India and a Masters degree in History from Kashi Vidhyapith, Varanasi, India, with a minor in religious studies.  Mr. Singh has published many articles in Indian print media on the topics of religion and history.

Steven Denstman, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Denstman is the Director of US Operations for SRG.  He is a board certified medical oncologist who has dedicated his life to creating and implementing solutions for the treatment of cancer.  Trained as a molecular biologist in the Oncology field, with a Doctorate in Molecular Biology (PhD) from the State University of New York, in Buffalo, NY, he went on to obtain a  medical degree (M.D.) from the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine, in New Jersey.  He completed Fellowship training in Medical Oncology at the University of California, San Diego, CA.   Dr. Denstman is actively involved in the treatment of cancer and clinical research in the oncology field.  He is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Florida State University.

Allan Pirie, B.A.

Mr. Pirie is the Director of Operations in Europe and Canada.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics and mathematics, with a productive 30-year career in the technology arena.  His experience includes founding and funding technology companies.  Mr. Pirie has actively participated in all phases of business and corporate development including day-to-day executive management and as a member of the Board of Directors of several U.S. companies.  He currently serves as a business development consultant for technology and service companies throughout the United States.
